The Neutral Blog & Car Reviews

A collection of stories, reviews and rants

Review - VW TSi Tiguan

tiguan1TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. Dr Who fans (Whovians) will know that straight away; those getting into a Tiguan for the first time will be heard to exclaim "it's so big inside" and therefore become unwitting Dr Who people.

I spent a week with the tidy TARDIS like 155 TSi Tiguan (top of the range) and said pretty much those words, bar a surprised expletive or two.

Holden Volt - First Impressions

volt01I was on location recently filming a story for Neutral and someone noticed I’d rocked up in a Holden Volt. They remarked that I must be way down on Holden’s list of priorities because they'd given me a Volt. The truth is I requested long term access to the car and for good reason.

I watched a documentary a few years ago called who killed the electric car and was intrigued by the EV1.

Review - Kia Cerato

cerato2Some years ago, to say Kia and their countrymate, Hyundai, had quality cars, was stretching the truth just a tad. A succession of pretty average cars such as the Spectra and Mentor barely troubled the tallyboard and Kia was in danger of being seen as an also ran Korean supplier.

Come 2008 and a stylish, reasonably well sorted car hit the market. Called Cerato, it flagged promise and delivered it.

Review - Audi A3 Sportback

IMG 3564I have always enjoyed driving Audi cars and my personal favorite is the A4. On a recent trip to Cairns I was given a rental upgrade thanks to the guys at Europcar.

There is a whole other story on hire car companies including their offers, rates and insurance but I’ll leave that for another day.

So back to the A3. I’m not a fan of the rear of this vehicle, the front and sides are what I personally think are some of the best looking panels on any car in the world today. The front grill is spectacular and the headlights give the car an exotic look.
